At Land O' Lakes Recreation Complex, Phase 1 of a community bioretention pond restoration brings together volunteers to clear invasive vegetation and plant native Florida species. Hosted by UF IFAS Extension Pasco County, Florida Sea Grant, and Pasco County Public Works, the effort aims to revive habitat, improve stormwater quality, and curb nutrient pollution. Participants can learn practical restoration skills such as planting techniques and identification of native plants, while contributing to cleaner water and local biodiversity. Families are welcome, and youth volunteers must be with a parent or guardian. Lunch and drinks are provided. Plan to bring sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, and closed-toed shoes that can get wet, and consider waders or an extra shovel since most tools will be supplied. Comfortable clothing that can handle mud is recommended. This project is part of the UF/IFAS Extension Florida Sea Grant Pasco County program, supported by a Tampa Bay Estuary Program Bay Mini Grant and the Tarpon Tag, with a focus on reducing stormwater pollution through education and hands-on work.

This lakeside goat yoga session at In the Loop Brewing is a donation-based fundraiser that directs 100 percent of proceeds to the Suncoast Scuba Rangers, a youth scuba diving club. A suggested minimum donation of $30 per person is requested, compared to the usual $40 class price, and contributions can be made during registration or in cash at check-in. Registration is requested so the organizers can plan accordingly. The class lasts about 30 minutes and is led by a certified yoga instructor. Adult goats mingle with participants, often hopping up for attention, so expect lighthearted moments and plenty of photo opportunities. The experience welcomes all levels, including beginners. For comfort, bring a yoga mat or a large towel, bug spray, a sweat towel, and bottled water, and keep in mind that mats may get dirty. In the Loop and Goat Yoga Tampa merchandise may be available for purchase, and cash can be useful. After class, guests can relax lakeside with a drink from the brewery. Close interaction with goats is part of the experience. Goats may jump or nibble, and they are not potty trained. This activity is not recommended for anyone with health concerns affected by animal contact, for very young children, or for those who prefer not to interact with animals.
