For more than a decade the duo has kept strong ties to Key West, first between national and international tours and now as full-time residents who treat the island as a creative sanctuary. As the writers and founders of Electric Blue Yonder, they helped shape Space Folk, a style marked by a cinematic outlook and a broadened sense of scale. Their recent work spans featured performances at the UK’s Maverick Festival and a 2025 Grammy-contending campaign for the album MicroPARTY, which expanded their vision into a multi-generational musical universe. Having finished a double album with producer Kevin Ratterman, whose credits include My Morning Jacket and Ray LaMontagne, they are preparing for a 2026 release. On deck they return to the core of their repertoire, highlighting intricate, roots-inspired guitar and luminous vocal harmonies in a close-up performance.

Coastlove and Triton Sea Center present a community highway cleanup in support of the Protect Your Paradise campaign. Volunteers will meet at Triton Sea Center, then split into teams to safely cover both sides of US1 on Big Pine Key from mile marker 29 to mile marker 31, stretching from east of the North Pine Channel Bridge to Industrial Road near the Chamber of Commerce. Participants should be able to walk up to a mile along the side of a busy roadway. Bring a reusable water bottle, a trash grabber if available, reef-friendly sun protection, clothes that can get dirty, and sturdy closed-toe shoes suitable for walking distances. Reusable trash bags, gloves, safety vests, and a water refill station will be provided. The cleanup wraps up back at Triton Sea Center with lunch for participants. Participation is limited to 40 volunteers, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A brief FDOT safety video must be viewed before attending.

Presented in partnership with the Key West Art & Historical Society, the workshop introduces children to different artists and techniques through a nature-focused experience. Children and their grownups create three to four projects using natural and recycled materials, enjoy time outside together, and can explore the Garden or spend time on the playground before or after the workshop. Because it coincides with the plant sale and compost activities, families can drop off kitchen scraps, see composting in action, and take home plants that support local ecosystems. Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 15 children per session, with separate registration needed for each workshop date. This is not a drop-off program and an adult must accompany each child. The workshop is free for Garden members and costs $10 per child for non-members. It is offered every third Saturday.

Now in its ninth year, Miami Bimmer Club hosts a Florida Keys poker rally that welcomes all makes and models for a scenic, non-competitive drive. The route features four planned stops, beginning at Snapper Creek Plaza near the 120th exit of the Florida Turnpike, continuing to Gilbert’s Resort in Key Largo, then a rest area near Breezy Palms Resort in Islamorada, and finishing at Sunset Grille & Raw Bar in Marathon. At the start, each participant receives a grading sheet to present at each stop in order to collect a sealed envelope containing a poker card. All cards are revealed at the final destination, and the best five-card hand wins. No poker experience is needed, as organizers handle scoring and placements. Prizes are awarded from the total pot, with first place receiving 50 percent, second 30 percent, third 15 percent, and fourth 5 percent. The entry fee is $100 per vehicle. Payment can be made via Cash App to $miamibimmerclub or Zelle to 305-992-8405, and participation is confirmed once payment is received, so early payment is encouraged.
