Yoga Nidra + Sound Bath

This weekly class is hosted at Om Shanti Yoga School in Tequesta and combines guided Yoga Nidra with a soothing sound bath. Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative meditation that gently leads participants through the five koshas, or layers of being. It is practiced lying down in a supported savasana, making it accessible and comfortable for everyone. Studies have shown that yoga nidra can help reduce stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and insomnia. After settling into Yoga Nidra, the experience continues with the resonant tones of crystal singing bowls. Sound provides a steady frequency that helps synchronize brainwaves, a process known as entrainment, which can encourage a shift from normal waking consciousness to more relaxed alpha states and even the deeply meditative theta state. A sound bath relaxes the mind and body, helps clear the subconscious, and activates the body’s natural healing abilities.

Story Mode: Velvet Nights & Lucky Sins

Picture a casino-kissed literary evening that leans into risky fun and delightfully questionable choices. The ambiance aims for glamour with soft lighting, plush velvet touches, gleaming gold details, lucky trinkets, and eye contact that hints at mischief. Stories, games, and conversation all play with the thrill of chance and the allure of red flags. The featured read is The Divorce by Freida McFadden. Finishing it beforehand is optional, since the focus is as much on connection as it is on chapters. Expect casino-style games, signature cocktails alongside thoughtful mocktails, dinner with dessert, lively book discussions, prizes with bragging rights, and a women-centered crowd that keeps fictional crushes in a category all their own. June 27 ACL Regional - Bags Fly 9AM

The South Florida Cornhole Regional takes place at the Moose Lodge in Palm Beach Gardens and features a full day of ACL competition. The action begins with Doubles Rounders, where every team plays five games capped at 12 rounds. Those results seed three double elimination brackets labeled Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. Singles divisions follow as courts open, starting one at a time, with Tier 1 Singles open to CPI 0 to 12, Tier 3 Singles for CPI up to 7.25, and Tier 4 Singles for CPI up to 5.75. A blind draw may be added at the end if time permits. This regional uses tiers rather than named skill levels. Players use their ACL Cornhole Performance Index on a 0 to 12 scale to determine eligibility, and directors may move competitors to higher tiers based on performance. Creating multiple accounts to access lower divisions is prohibited and may lead to ACL suspension. Entry fees are set for ACL Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members, with Free or Club Level members adding 10 dollars per player per event. Doubles Rounders is 70 dollars per team with a 70 percent payout that is split by tier, with 55 percent of that pool to Tier 1, 30 percent to Tier 2, and 15 percent to Tier 3. Tier 1 Singles is 35 dollars per player with a 70 percent payout. Tier 3 Singles is 25 dollars per player with a 60 percent payout. Tier 4 Singles is 25 dollars per player with a 50 percent payout. If a Tier 1 blind draw is held, it is 20 dollars per player with a 75 percent payout and on site signups. Online pre registration offers savings, and day of signups add 5 dollars per player per event. Payouts expand with field size, awarding two places for the smallest fields and up to eight paid places in the largest fields. ACL Regional Points are awarded by tier, with Tier 1 earning the most and Tier 4 awarding fewer, and players may choose to play up for larger payouts and more points. Food, beer, and liquor are available for purchase on site, outside alcohol is not permitted. Seating is provided, and bringing a personal chair is welcome.

Candlelight Restorative with Yoga Nidra Hosted by Maureen Agnello

At Green Tara Yoga, Maureen Agnello leads a candlelit restorative session that blends gentle Yin with a full Yoga Nidra meditation. The 90 minute class opens with supportive, unhurried poses to settle the body, then shifts into a guided sweep of awareness through subtle points in the body, inviting deep rest in the space between wakefulness and sleep. This practice encourages a shift toward the parasympathetic nervous system, easing the stress response and helping to lower cortisol. Reported benefits include a brighter mood, strengthened immunity, relief from stress related concerns, and more consistent sleep through support of natural melatonin rhythms. Over time, it can create distance from stressors and habitual reactions so responses align more closely with one’s authentic self. The fee is $25, payable in cash on arrival, by Venmo at @Mary-Veal, or by Zelle at maryvealyoga@gmail.com, and please include the event and date in the payment note. Sea Turtle Awareness Specialty Course

Dive into a focused training experience that combines classroom learning with a two-tank drift charter in waters known for abundant sea turtle activity. This specialty course explains why sea turtles are vital to ocean ecosystems, outlines the pressures they face, and shares practical steps divers can take to help protect them. Participants learn to recognize the species most often seen along the Treasure Coast, including green, loggerhead, and hawksbill turtles, with the leatherback occasionally nesting in the area as well. Jupiter is renowned for having one of the largest sea turtle nesting populations worldwide, so in-water encounters are common during the season. Students earn a Sea Turtle Awareness certification upon completion. All charters are drift dives, and each diver must bring a surface marker buoy and a dive computer. Gear and tanks are not included. Yoga Nidra + Sound Bath

A weekly class at Om Shanti Yoga School in Tequesta offers a gentle blend of yoga nidra and a crystal singing bowl sound bath. It begins with a guided meditation that explores the five koshas while you rest lying down in supported savasana, making the experience welcoming and accessible. Research on yoga nidra links the practice to easing stress and anxiety, relieving chronic pain, and improving sleep for those experiencing insomnia. The session then moves into a soothing soundscape, where the resonant tones of crystal bowls encourage even deeper relaxation. Steady frequencies help synchronize brainwaves through entrainment, allowing a gradual shift from everyday alertness to more restful, meditative states. Described as a sacred journey, the sound bath calms the mind and body, helps clear the subconscious, and supports the body’s natural healing capacity.

Quarter Auction for Kibblez of Love

A quarter auction at The Dancing Crane benefits Kibblez of Love, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to the well-being of family pets. Attendees can bid using $2 paddles and take part in both a ticket raffle and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds support programs that supply pet food to families experiencing financial hardship and help with spay and neuter services. When a family needs more help than these services can provide, the organization works to place pets in new homes. Since 2011, Kibblez of Love has helped keep 14,902 pets with their families, distributed over one million pounds of pet food in Palm Beach County communities, and rescued and rehomed 894 animals that might otherwise have been abandoned or euthanized.
