Weekly Skill Share with David (Bike Mechanics)2026 series

A weekly bike mechanics skill share offers a practical and welcoming class for beginners and experienced riders alike. The focus is on building confidence and know-how so you can maintain and repair your own bicycle. Each meeting dives into everyday upkeep and troubleshooting, such as fixing flats and swapping tubes, checking pressure and choosing suitable tires, adjusting rim and disc brakes, tuning shifting and derailleurs, cleaning, lubricating, and replacing chains, performing bolt checks and basic safety reviews, quieting squeaks and rattles that can end a ride, recognizing when a bike is unsafe, and deciding what can be handled at home versus when it is time to visit a shop. Participants can bring their own bike or work on a shop bike. Learning is hands-on, with plenty of time to ask questions, try tools, make mistakes, and learn together. All skill levels are welcome and no prior experience is needed. Tools are provided, and you are welcome to bring any parts you want to install. The aim is to pass on skills, boost confidence, and keep more bikes rolling, especially for people who may not have easy access to a traditional bike shop or formal training. The emphasis is on mutual aid, self-reliance, and community rather than perfection. You do not need to be a gearhead. Curiosity and a bike are enough.

Prose in the House with Lex Miren

Prose in the House is a live showcase for spoken word and literature that elevates poets, writers, and storytellers with an emphasis on being heard, documented, and guided toward professional growth. Hosted by Lex Miren, the series brings the creative community together for close-knit moments of poetry, storytelling, and conversation, recorded on site and distributed through the Bespoken For Network. Best of the Best Bull Carbon Tourney

At Park Avenue Billiards, a Bull Carbon Cues sponsored tournament invites top performers for a double elimination competition organized by skill tier. Entry is free, and registration is open to players who placed within the top four of their MVP bracket or who hold a leading position in the Hot Shot standings. The event features separate 8-Ball and 9-Ball fields, with three champions crowned in each format. Every champion receives a high end Bull Carbon cue. Eligibility is defined by two scoring systems. MVP measures efficiency as the percentage of points you earned out of the total available in your matches. In 8-Ball each match offers three points and in 9-Ball each match offers twenty points, so simply playing more does not raise the percentage unless you score. Hot Shot rewards performance by granting points for victories, adding the skill level of every opponent you defeat. Results are tracked separately for each team, and opponent skill is based on end of session levels. Together these metrics highlight both efficient scoring and strong wins against tougher competition.

Grand Finals Qualifier (GFQ)

Hosted at Legends Billiards, the Grand Finals Qualifier is the Ultimate Pool USA postseason event that decides which teams advance to the league’s annual Grand Finals. Teams earn their place through division results. In Full and Full Express sessions, the top two teams from each division qualify. In Half sessions, only the division winner advances. League Operators may also select one wildcard team per division per session, and if a team declines or cannot participate the spot does not pass down. Player and team eligibility rules apply. Players must have completed at least four matches in the current session and ten over the season. Teams must keep at least five players from the original qualifying roster. Eligibility is based on the Session 3 roster, and teams are required to finish in the top half of their division in each remaining session. The tournament uses a double elimination structure. With fewer than eight teams it runs as true double elimination from start to finish. With nine or more teams it is double elimination until the field reaches the final 4, 8, or 16 depending on entries, then single elimination to determine the winners. Grand Finals berths are allocated at one spot per 35 teams per format in each league area. Event winners earn a prize package valued at a minimum of $6,000, including travel funds, team jerseys, and Grand Finals entry. Teams finishing in the top 25 percent by GFQ placement may enter the Grand Finals by paying an entry fee of $2,750. If more than four Grand Finals slots are available and teams are tied in a losing round, total points in that round decide who advances. If still tied, a Six Ball Shootout determines the winner. Double Play is not permitted at the Qualifier or the Grand Finals, and all participants are subject to a UPScore audit. This event is designed to ensure that only strong, eligible teams from each division earn a path to compete for the league’s highest honors.
