Seabreeze Football Golf Tournament

The Seabreeze Football Booster Club is presenting a fundraising golf tournament at LPGA Golf Club in Daytona Beach in support of the program’s student athletes on and off the field. Teams of four can register for $550 per foursome, which includes a cart, a continental breakfast, and a buffet lunch. The day adds extra excitement with contests and prizes, including a quarterback challenge, closest to the pin, longest drive, a hole in one opportunity, and a raffle. Sacred Feminine Dance Circle

Sacred Feminine Dance Circle is a gathering in Daytona Beach centered on soulful movement and connection. The flow begins with a welcoming circle to connect and ground the group, continues with a guided dance journey inspired by Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, and concludes with a sharing circle for reflection and witnessing. At Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, guitarist and songwriter Devon Allman leads a blues and Southern rock summit that draws on a lifelong connection to this music. As the son of Gregg Allman, he grew up within the Allman Brothers Band legacy and continues to carry that tradition forward through expressive guitar work and original songs. Sharing the bill is Jimmy Hall, the voice of Wet Willie, recognized for his harmonica and emotive vocals. From his start in Mobile, Alabama, he formed Wet Willie in the late 1960s and reached the charts with songs like “Keep on Smilin’.” His collaborations have included work with Jeff Beck, reflecting a career that spans blues, rock, and R&B. Larry McCray adds further depth to the lineup. Born in Magnolia, Arkansas and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, the blues guitarist and singer came to prominence in the late 1980s with a sound that blends contemporary blues, rock, and soul. The fifth annual Sweat With A Vet brings Delta Life Fitness together with the U.S. Marines of RSS Daytona Beach to co-host a Marine Corps Combat Fitness Test at Nova Community Center. A community outreach marking the fifteenth anniversary of Word Weavers Volusia County will be held at Port Orange Foursquare Church. Hosted by the local chapter of a Christian writers critique network, the gathering highlights a community of both published and emerging writers who work in many forms, including fiction, nonfiction, devotionals, poetry, letters to the editor, and songs. The featured speaker is Eva Marie Everson, CEO of Word Weavers International, a Southern novelist and Bible teacher, presenting an inspirational message titled "What Is That You Hold in Your Hand?" Everson has taught at writers conferences, spoken in churches and at women’s events across the United States and Canada, and has served as an adjunct professor at Taylor University. This drill meeting highlights the mission of the Volusia Young Marines in Volusia County, Florida. As part of a nationally recognized, award-winning youth organization for boys and girls ages eight to eighteen, the program builds confidence, supports academic success, honors veterans, and encourages responsible citizenship through community service. Participants learn the value of healthy, drug-free living while developing mentally, morally, and physically. With a strong focus on character and leadership, the Young Marines are also leaders in Drug Demand Reduction initiatives.

Girl Scout Yoga/Pilates Fun Patch Workshop

Registered Girl Scouts can take part in a one hour workshop focused on earning a yoga or pilates fun patch. Participants may come on their own or attend with their troop. The session covers every patch requirement, and each scout receives the patch at the end. The fee is $10 per scout. Pre-registration is required, space is limited, and signups will close once the roster is full. If you cannot attend, troop leaders can arrange a separate date for an entire troop. To accommodate a small studio, the workshop is for scouts only and no tagalongs. Parents and leaders do not stay during the group session. For a troop only workshop booked separately, up to two leaders may remain. Spellbound - 11th Annual Showcase

Spellbound presents its 11th annual showcase at The Daytona Beach News Journal Center, featuring dancers of various ages in performances that reflect their season of preparation and craft. Two separate programs are planned, one that includes both younger and older dancers and another that spotlights the older performers. A special Legacy Stars Solos Showcase and presentation reception honors the competition team’s soloists with awards and recognitions, and is free for the stars’ friends and family. Rehearsals take place in the days leading up to the performances.

Summer Creativity Workout Camp for Ages 9-14

At Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens, this weeklong camp for ages 9 to 14 nurtures creativity by blending writing and visual art with guidance from children’s book illustrator Mary Wentzel. The first session focuses on making a personalized sketchbook that will be used all week to capture journal entries, poems, stories, and drawings. Emphasis on regular sketchbook practice helps spark imagination and develop ideas. Participants should bring a snack and a drink for the daily break. Tuition is $150 for museum members and $165 for those who are not members, and enrollment is first come, first served. Families receiving SNAP food assistance may apply for scholarship support.

Kids Aerial Yoga Camp (June)

Children can dive into aerial yoga in a playful summer camp led by Michele Guess, ERYT500 and CPR certified. With bright hammocks as their base, campers develop body awareness and coordination, build confidence and strength, and have fun in a caring setting. The program blends movement, breathing, and mindful focus to foster proprioception, or understanding where the body is in space, and to support emotional self regulation. Each day includes structured time in the hammocks, partner activities, yoga inspired movement and mindfulness exercises, soothing meditations and rest in the fabric, and a break for a healthy, non sugary snack along with free play. This camp welcomes kids ages 7 and up, and no prior yoga or aerial experience is needed. Participants must be able to follow group directions, stay attentive, and use the hammocks safely. For everyone’s well being, any child who is not following instructions or is acting unsafely may be asked to sit out.

Florida History Through Historical Florida Landscapes

Senior Curator of History Zach Zacharias from The Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, Science & History leads a talk at the Shores Community Center that traces how Florida has changed over time, seen through historic landscape paintings from the museum’s collection. Part of The Brown’s Museum in Motion, this outreach program brings unique experiences into the community while the museum’s building is temporarily closed for construction. The program is free with registration, and space is limited.
