Home Hardening Seminar: Turn Your House Into a Criminal-Proof Sanctuary

Gain practical strategies to strengthen your home in a seminar devoted to reducing everyday vulnerabilities. Many households unknowingly signal opportunity through small oversights in routines and design choices, and this session explains how proactive steps can deter threats and protect what matters most. The program covers how intruders commonly gain entry, how to assess your property for weak points, and ways to reinforce doors, windows, and locks. It explores which landscaping choices can make a place look like an easy target, which familiar features are often exploited in under a minute, how to make a home appear occupied during longer trips, and affordable upgrades that deliver significant security improvements. You will also examine why some properties are targeted repeatedly while nearby homes are not, and how to incorporate local crime data into your plan. Participants leave with clear, low profile actions that fit naturally into daily life. The cost is $99, seating is limited, and the seminar includes a training certificate and a student packet.

Top Step Kidz Balance Bike Program: Learn-to-Ride Series

Top Step Kidz offers a balance bike program at Markham Park that helps children learn to ride by focusing on balance first. Rather than leaning on training wheels that hold the bike upright and slow real skill development, this method builds stability and control from the start. Many riders move to pedals sooner and with greater confidence because they have already mastered the hardest part. The series follows a clear, step by step progression that meets each child at their current ability in a calm, supportive setting. Group sizes are intentionally small so every participant receives individual attention. All bikes and helmets are provided. Families can begin at any point in the series. The cost is $150 for the full five session program or $35 per class. For questions, contact Steve Mlujeak at smlujeak@topstepcycling.com or 586-604-7582.

Chakra Focused Sound Bath

A sound bath centered on the chakras offers a calm, meditative experience that uses vibration and sound to support balance in the body’s energy system. Settling into stillness, participants are gradually enveloped as tones begin softly and grow into a full-body resonance. Crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes layer harmonics that move through the body in subtle yet powerful waves. These frequencies reach beneath the surface and interact with the breath, the physical body, and the surrounding energetic field. As the mind quiets, many notice a sense of spaciousness and steady awareness. Some describe a gentle feeling of realignment, while others experience lightness, clarity, or emotional ease, as if a weight has been lifted.
