Fitness with Steel Mace & Stick Mobilty

Rebuild mobility and strength in a focused small-group class that combines steel mace work with Stick Mobility. Steel mace training delivers whole-body conditioning that elevates practical strength, reinforces the core, develops powerful grip, and frees the shoulders. Its uneven load asks stabilizers to work in ways that typical gym weights often do not, creating balanced, functional control. Stick Mobility uses a training stick to create leverage for active, resisted stretching, helping you move with greater ease and control. Expect improvements in stability and coordination, refined movement quality and posture, and stronger awareness of how your body moves. This approach supports injury prevention and recovery, can ease discomfort, and can boost athletic performance and mental well-being. By building strength at your end ranges, it also promotes healthier joints. The group size is limited to five, online registration is required, and direct messages are welcome for questions.

You Da Bomb Baby!!

A creative, hands-on class devoted to botanical bath bombs brings together art, chemistry, and the herbal roots of soaking rituals. Attendees craft indulgent fizzing treats with plant-based ingredients like therapeutic herbs, essential oils, mineral salts, and gentle botanical powders. The session explores why these spheres bubble in water, and looks to bathing traditions practiced by the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, Chinese, and Japanese, where botanicals, aromatic oils, clays, and salts supported relaxation, purification, relief from aches, spiritual cleansing, skincare, nervous system calm, fever care, circulation, and reproductive wellness. Romans fragranced public baths with herbs and oils, while Japanese soaking customs used seasonal plants and woods to restore balance. Modern bath bombs build on these histories by pairing aromatherapy, skin conditioning, and effervescence, with the familiar fizz created when citric acid reacts with baking soda in water to release carbon dioxide. Guided instruction covers herbal formulation, choosing stable natural colorants, safe essential oil blending, and the structural principles that help bath bombs hold their shape and texture at home. The curriculum highlights calendula, lavender, rose, chamomile, butterfly pea flower, hibiscus, colloidal oats, oat milk powder, Dead Sea and Epsom salts, and clay minerals, along with skin-soothing approaches, support for the nervous system, color stability in natural recipes, and the energetic qualities of herbs within bathing practices. On the practical side, participants develop a personalized formula, experiment with natural coloring, pack mixtures into molds, create layered designs or add floral accents, compose scent profiles, and learn proper packaging and storage. Technical guidance includes humidity management, selecting effective binding agents, balancing oils to powders, achieving firm compression, and best practices for drying and curing, plus how to avoid cracking, expansion, or crumbling. Presented at The Funk.

Introduction to Mysore : Ashtanga Yoga

Explore Mysore-style Ashtanga yoga in an introduction that highlights a traditional, self-paced approach rooted in the city of Mysore in Southern India. Instead of a one-size-fits-all format, practitioners progress through the Ashtanga sequence at an individual rhythm while receiving one-on-one guidance from a qualified teacher. Instruction emphasizes safe alignment and coordinated breathing, known as vinyasa. Central to this method is Parampara, the teacher and student lineage built on trust and the steady transmission of knowledge, which supports meaningful growth over time. The session outlines how this practice can lead to notable physical changes, greater body awareness, clearer focus, and a deepening of spiritual insight, all while shaping a routine that suits each person’s body and life.

Ladies Only Firearm Safety and Fundamentals + CCW

Designed specifically for women, this Firearm Safety and Fundamentals class pairs essential safety education with the option to complete concealed carry requirements. The course provides 2.5 hours of interactive classroom training that covers safety rules, core shooting fundamentals, dry-fire practice, stance, grip, sight alignment, and clearing malfunctions, with a hands-on approach focused on real life skills. After the classroom portion, a private one-on-one live-fire range session with a USCCA-certified instructor is scheduled separately, and you may use your own firearm or a training firearm for both parts of the course. Participants may take the safety and fundamentals segment on its own or add the Florida permit path with the required range time. The class fee is $135. The private range session is $50 plus a $15 range fee, and participants should bring their own ammunition along with eye and ear protection. The curriculum draws on USCCA and NRA teachings and reflects extensive experience training more than 50,000 law enforcement, corrections, and military professionals. It includes a full private hour of live-fire coaching to build confidence and competence. Weapon Brand offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee and the option to retake the classroom portion at no charge. The calendar also includes an open to all version of this class.

Roots & Ritual: You Da Bomb Baby!! Bath Bomb Crafting

Learn to craft luxurious botanical bath bombs in a hands-on workshop at The Funk. The class covers how to work with natural ingredients including therapeutic herbs, essential oils, mineral salts, and gentle plant powders, while also explaining the science that creates the signature fizz when an acid and a base meet water. Instruction connects modern bath bomb making to a long history of herbal bathing across cultures, where mineral-rich waters, flowers, oils, clays, and salts supported relaxation, cleansing, pain relief, skin care, nervous system calm, fever support, circulation, and reproductive wellness. Participants gain practical skills in herbal formulation, natural color techniques, safe essential oil blending, and the structural know-how needed to make stable, beautifully textured bath bombs at home. The curriculum explores botanicals such as calendula, lavender, rose, chamomile, butterfly pea flower, and hibiscus, along with oat milk powder, Dead Sea and Epsom salts, colloidal oats, and various clays. Guidance includes managing humidity, choosing effective binding agents, balancing oil to powder ratios, compressing molds, and proper drying and curing, with troubleshooting for cracking, expansion, or crumbling. Hands-on activities include blending a custom formula, tinting with plant-based colors, pressing and molding shapes, creating layered or floral-topped designs, composing scent profiles with essential oils, and learning best practices for packaging and storage.

There are chances to meet local wellness practitioners and to walk away with clear, actionable takeaways. Roots & Ritual: Summer Sizzle Tallow Sun Cream

At The Funk, this hands-on herbal workshop shows how to craft a nourishing tallow-based sun cream with traditional botanicals and mineral protection. Explore the roots of using rendered animal fats in skin care alongside safe, modern methods to create a rich, water-resistant balm for skin that faces sun, wind, and heat. Learn the differences between mineral and chemical approaches to sun protection, how to infuse herbs into oils, how to formulate safely, and how to tailor a recipe to personal needs. The class highlights supportive plants such as calendula, lavender, plantain, chamomile, green tea, sea buckthorn, and aloe vera, and explains tallow’s fatty acids and vitamins that help reinforce the skin barrier. Guided lessons cover the benefits of moderate sunlight, the distinction between UVA and UVB rays, signs of overexposure, and the roles of antioxidants and emollients. Instruction also addresses rendering and purifying tallow, differences between grass-fed and conventional sources, working with non-nano zinc oxide as a physical barrier and proper dispersion techniques, plus the limitations of homemade SPF and the importance of reapplication and protective clothing. A dedicated safety segment sets clear expectations for herbal preparations, encourages patch testing and careful essential oil dilution, and reinforces sun-smart habits. Each attendee takes home a jar of handmade herbal tallow sun cream, a printed recipe booklet, an herbal infusion guide, storage and shelf-life tips, and a resource list for quality ingredients. The session closes with a simple guiding philosophy that values nourishment and respect for the body’s natural defenses while pairing time-honored practices with modern safety.

The class covers how sun exposure works, including the difference between UV-A and UV-B rays, signs of overexposure, and the roles of antioxidants and emollients. It explains why tallow supports the skin barrier, touches on vitamins A, D, E, and K, and introduces rendering and purification basics along with the differences between grass-fed and conventional tallow. Students also get to know skin-supportive herbs such as calendula, lavender, green tea, sea buckthorn, and aloe vera, and receive guidance on using non-nano zinc oxide, proper dispersion, the limitations of homemade SPF, reapplication, and protective clothing. During the hands-on session, everyone makes an herbal tallow sun cream while reviewing patch testing, essential oil dilution safety, sun-safe habits, and practical expectations for herbal preparations. Optional variations are discussed, including cocoa butter for a firmer texture, mango butter for something lighter, infused carrot root oil, vanilla bean infusion, and shimmer minerals for a cosmetic glow. Participants leave with a jar of handmade herbal tallow sun cream, a printed recipe booklet, an herbal infusion guide, shelf-life and storage instructions, and a resource list for quality ingredients. The workshop closes with an emphasis on nourishment, simplicity, and respect for the skin’s natural defenses, bringing together ancestral methods and modern safety practices.

Girls trip to Clearwater beach

A girls beach getaway to Clearwater Beach is planned as a shorter alternative to traveling to Key West, which still has openings for anyone who prefers that option. The group will stay at Dolphin Sands in Clearwater Beach, a small boutique hotel with a private beach area that includes umbrellas, chairs, and waitstaff, plus a beach and pool bar and a restaurant. A beach setup fee of $10 per day applies, and participants may enjoy the property before check-in and after check-out on travel days. There is also time built in to explore Clearwater, Dunedin, Tarpon Springs, or St. Pete, or simply relax at the hotel. Group pricing is tied to bus transportation. Round trip bus travel is required to keep the trip financially feasible for the club, at a cost of $90 per person, and the group covers the full bus cost even if it is not filled. A smaller bus may be used, and the trip may be capped at 36 participants if there are not enough travelers for a larger coach. The ride includes time to chat, play a few games, and unwind on the return. Those who choose to drive will pay $25 per day for parking and will not be included in the group hotel rate or any group dinner cruise bookings. Rooms are $149 per night plus tax per room based on double occupancy. Non-member guests are welcome to attend with a participant. There is a sign-up deadline so transportation can be confirmed and plans finalized. Booking occurs in two steps. First, reserve and pay for a bus seat through the website. After the bus is booked, the hotel group-sales contact will be provided so participants can call to reserve a room at the group rate. If interest is too low, the trip will be postponed until 2027.
