Each day blends thoughtful instruction with time outdoors, inviting participants to draw inspiration straight from the surroundings. State Street, Carlsbad, CA, United States, California 92008Mindful Conversations
Many circles quietly ask people to perform, even when they are described as safe. This gathering is designed to lift that pressure so presence can take the lead. It begins by slowing down, not as a warm-up but as the work itself. A guided exploration of somatic body language invites you to notice what your body is already communicating without putting it into words. From there, a breath and sound journey supports whatever is ready to come forward. It is not a place where you must produce insights, and it is not a share circle where silence feels uncomfortable. Expect a low-structure, no-performance environment with room to arrive exactly as you are and listen inward. There is no need to be in crisis or be deeply into these practices; simple curiosity about what lies beneath the noise is enough. If something has felt stuck in your chest, this room offers space for it. The format is in person, and attendance is limited to keep the setting intimate.

Il Tabarro
The California Center for the Arts, Escondido hosts an evening that pairs opera and ballet around Giacomo Puccini’s Il Tabarro. This one-act work, whose title translates as The Cloak, unfolds on a river barge in Paris around the turn of the century, tracing a tense tale of love, jealousy, and betrayal. Its atmospheric score evokes a foggy night filled with secrets and dire consequences. Although it opens Puccini’s Il Trittico trilogy, it is staged far less often than Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi. The compact drama plays in about an hour and will be performed with a full orchestra. After intermission, the story returns in a fresh form through a neoclassical ballet with original choreography. The characters communicate solely through expressive movement while the orchestral music is heard without vocals. This program launches Season 4 for Cinballera Entertainment, an independent nonprofit based in North San Diego County founded in 2023 by sisters Tiffany and Rebekah Brannan. Dedicated to blending cinema, ballet, and opera, they produce, direct, and write much of their repertoire and also take the stage. Dramatic coloratura soprano Tiffany and prima ballerina Rebekah alternate as the leading lady across the opera and ballet, joined by a company of international performers and local talent.
