Life Line Screening - Tempe, AZ

At Tempe Elks Lodge, Life Line Screening offers a package of five preventive health checks focused on stroke, cardiovascular risk, and other chronic conditions. The visit includes a carotid artery ultrasound to look for plaque that can lead to stroke, an abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound to check for dangerous enlargement, a heart rhythm test for atrial fibrillation using a quick 6-lead EKG on the arms and legs, and a peripheral arterial disease screening that evaluates circulation in the lower extremities. BRiCK Level 1 Improvement Course in Phoenix

Bruno and Raiza present the BRiCK Academy Level 1 improvement course at Mesa Institute of Religion in Phoenix. Centered on the BRiCK methodology for Brazilian Zouk, the training breaks the dance into its smallest building blocks to sharpen technique, expand creativity, and support informed choices on the floor. Over five days, the program offers 30 hours in total, including 25 hours of class and 5 hours of supervised practice with the instructors, with breaks built in to help absorb the material. This is not a beginner course. Prior Zouk experience is required, with two years recommended, though strong dedication and consistent practice may make less experience suitable. Enrollment is capped at 15 lead‑follow pairs, 30 dancers total, to keep the focus personal and precise. Phoenix participants can access discount codes. Southwest Love Fest 2026

This is a bring-your-own-watercraft cleanup, and a PFD is required. The effort lasts about four hours and offers time on the water while contributing to a cleaner river. A parking pass valid for the duration of the project, trash bags, and trash grabbers will be provided. Haul-back support for collected trash is arranged unless carpooling with other volunteers. Youth are welcome with a parent or guardian providing supervision. Launch and take-out sites will be confirmed and may include Water Users, Pebble Beach, Blue Point, Sheep's Crossing, Goldfield, Phon D Sutton, and Granite Reef.

The Nicholas A. Salerno Star Wars Collection is on view in the Wurzburger Reading Room at Charles Trumbull Hayden Library, highlighting the original film era from 1977 to 1983. Presented by ASU Library with support from the Department of English, the program is inspired by actor Harrison Ford’s invitation to speak at ASU Undergraduate Commencement. Seonaid Valiant, director of scholar engagement and interim associate curator for Rare Books, and Kevin Sandler, an associate professor in the Film and Media Studies Program who created ASU’s Star Wars Universe course, will be available to answer questions and share insights about the collections. Experience after-dark mountain biking at McDowell Mountain Regional Park with a rolling 9.5 mile loop through the Sonoran Desert. All categories use the same scenic loop for a shared atmosphere throughout the night. Race formats include a 6 hour solo or duo option, a 3 hour race, a single 9.5 mile lap, and a 9.5 mile juniors ride. This is the second stop in the Insomniac Night Trail Ride Series, carrying the nighttime riding theme across the greater Phoenix area.
