US Open Qualifier: Final Night 2

At The Outlaw Bar & Grill, singers get a second chance to progress in the USKA U.S. Open during Night Two, with the goal of earning a spot to represent Team Outlaw at the Arizona State Finals. Performers who already qualified on Night One are set and do not need to audition again, while those who did not advance can return and try once more by registering for this round. Competitors can choose from country, rock, classical or musical theatre, and pop, and are welcome to enter more than one category to improve their chances. Advance registration is available so participants can create an artist profile and select songs ahead of time, and on-site sign-ups will also be offered. USKA uses Karafun as the official karaoke provider, and rehearsing with that catalog is recommended to confirm song availability and build confidence on stage. Those who move forward continue to the Arizona State Finals, take part in group rehearsals for finalists, and aim for the USKA National Championship in Las Vegas.

Coffee for a Paws

A second casual coffee meetup invites people to skip brunch, enjoy a cup of coffee and perhaps a small bite, and instead put brunch budgets toward supplies for Tucson Central Nursery Animal Rescue. The focus is on collecting essentials for the animals while creating a relaxed space to connect. Tucson Central Nursery Animal Rescue is a small, entirely foster-based nonprofit led by Sylvia. It takes in puppies, kittens, and at times small dogs, and ensures each animal receives vaccinations, spay or neuter services, and microchipping before adoption. The organization also offers low cost vaccines, microchipping, and deworming for the community. Adoptable pets are shared on the rescue’s website and social media, and the adoption process includes an application and an in person meet and greet. The aim is to make this an ongoing effort, with opportunities to connect with Sylvia at future gatherings. High need donations include puppy food such as a 4 pound bag of Purina One Puppy Chow Complete around $13.85, kitten food like a 3.5 pound bag around $10.18, towels and small blankets that can often be found for $3 to $5 at thrift shops, puppy training pads with a 50 pack around $9.99, plastic or metal crates typically $15 to $20 secondhand or $20 to $40 new, litter boxes around $10 to $20, and non clumping kitty litter roughly $6 to $15 with example prices as low as $3.99. Other helpful items include small food and water dishes, small leashes, toys, scales for weighing tiny kittens, and kitten formula.
