Last 4th Monday Bingo

This event marks the final 4th Monday bingo fundraiser before the fall pause, presented by the Green Valley Sahuarita Lions Foundation at the GVR West Center. It is open to the public and GVR membership is not required. A 3-card pack covering 15 games costs $9, and extra packs are available. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Prize payouts vary based on attendance and bingo card sales. Participation supports vision screening programs, and proceeds benefit the foundation’s Vision Assistance Program for children and adults. The Green Valley Sahuarita Lions Foundation is a 501c(3) charity.

Paws for Grownups

Take a break from the everyday and enjoy the comfort of canine company. Affectionate, well-trained dogs will be on site with their handlers for adults to spend time with. This program takes place at Conrad Joyner-Green Valley Library.

Warfare and Conflict

Lieutenant General (ret) H.R. McMaster, former Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and author ofBattlegrounds: The Fight to Defend the Free World, will discuss the changing character of modern warfare. The discussion will cover new tactics and technologies that are reshaping the modern battlefield, as well as the latest U.S. National Security Strategy and National Defense Strategy. He will join in a conversation at the Tucson Military Vehicle Museum.

Life Line Screening - Green Valley, AZ

Life Line Screening will offer preventive health screenings at American Legion Post 66. Since 1993, the organization has provided annual tests that help identify risk for stroke, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions. Attendees can choose a five-test package that includes a carotid artery ultrasound to check for plaque buildup, an abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound, a heart rhythm screening for atrial fibrillation using a quick 6-lead EKG on the arms and legs, a peripheral arterial disease assessment focused on circulation in the legs, and a complimentary blood pressure screening for hypertension. The host is extending a special package option designed to support peace of mind and early detection, and appointments can be scheduled in advance.

At Green Valley Recreation, Gaslight Favorites Armen Dirtadian and David Fanning celebrate the music of Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck with a back to back tribute filled with signature tunes. Sip, Stitch & Shop

Enjoy a laid-back creative afternoon at Quilts Ltd. Gallery, where stitching, conversation, and a little shopping come together. Free drinks are available as guests contribute to a communal Southwest themed quilt, adding a hand-stitched section on a shared frame with thimbles available at no cost. Add your name to the guest book to be listed on the back of the finished quilt, creating a lasting record of every contributor. A casual, small-group history conversation with Dan Judkins at the Tubac Historical Society invites discussion of local topics and stories. The gathering opens with participant-led dialogue about Tubac’s past, then shifts to a planned focus on the earliest Spanish presence in the area before the 1752 presidio. It is free to attend, and no registration is required. Attendees are welcome to bring a shareable snack, a preferred beverage, and a question or idea to explore. The 3rd annual town clean up brings neighbors together to take pride in the community through hands-on beautification. Plant Based Proteins Hands-On Cooking Class

Are you interested in plant-based proteins but unsure where to begin? Then this class is for you! Explore the world of plant-based proteins. Reap the benefits of incorporating more vegetables into your diet, as research suggests that adding plant-based proteins can boost your fiber, antioxidants, and heart-healthy nutrients. The class will also cover seasoning a soup, how to work with tofu, and discussion on plant-based proteins. A sample menu includes curried pumpkin and lentil stew, ginger sesame baked tofu, and tofu chocolate mousse. Lunch is included, featuring all the dishes made in the class. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Cheer Clinic

Responding to strong interest from families, another cheer clinic is returning to the Sahuarita High School Gym after a sold-out session. Young athletes will learn a brand new routine, receive new shirts, and focus on building skills in a fun, supportive environment. The clinic is open to ages 5 to 16. Registration details will be shared soon, and with the previous clinic selling out, spots are expected to fill quickly.

The Animal League of Green Valley Spay and Neuter Clinic

The Animal League of Green Valley hosts a spay and neuter clinic centered on safe, careful care for pets and the veterinary team. To keep surgery times manageable, there is a cap on the number of dogs accepted, and dogs over 85 pounds cannot be accommodated. Please respect these limits, which are in place for the well-being of the staff, veterinarian, and animals. Services are first come, first served, with a maximum of 30 surgeries a day. The copay is $65. Vaccines are available only for pets receiving surgery, as this is not a standalone vaccine clinic. Optional vaccines with surgery include DAPP/PRC and rabies. E-collars are required for all dogs; cones are $15, and if you already have one, bring it to check-in so staff can confirm it fits. Litters under five months are $10 per animal when the mother is spayed at the same time for $65. There is an annual limit of three pets per household. All dogs must arrive on a leash or in a carrier, and all cats must be in a carrier. Pets must be at least two months old and weigh at least two pounds. Pets under five months do not need to fast.

Visit the Bookmobile

The Bookmobile makes monthly visits to areas outside of Pima County and has been doing so since the 1960s. The bookmobile carries over 2,500 items, and people check out approximately 17,000 items each year from it. The Bookmobile travels around 8,500 miles annually.

Sahuarita Sunset Market

The Sahuarita Sunset Market features live music from local performers, a variety of food vendors, and a marketplace that spotlights homegrown sellers and small businesses. The lakeside setting at Sahuarita Lake Park offers a relaxed atmosphere for enjoying the tunes, shopping, or simply unwinding. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. BYOB is permitted, with the exception of hard liquor. Vendor registration is currently available through the organizer’s website only.

The Frenchies

Speakers with some French under their belt can build on what they know through an intermediate, free class at Sahuarita Library. The class focuses on advancing language ability and overall command while also incorporating elements of French history. It is intended for learners who already have a foundation and want structured practice to keep progressing.

Crafting, Coloring, Cookies, and Conversation

This is an opportunity to craft and socialize. You can bring your own projects, knit, crochet, collage, draw, or do origami. Coloring sheets, pencils, pens, and origami paper will be available. Plus, attendees can enjoy a cookie, meet other crafters, and chat. Adults and mature teens are welcome.

Paint and Sip - Barbed Wire

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of art, friends, and refreshments at the San Ignacio -Coyote Grill. Gracefully Painting will guide you in creating your own rendition of Barbed Wire. Ride of Silence

At Anamax Park, cyclists take part in a quiet, reflective ride that honors people who have been injured or lost their lives while biking and affirms the legal right of cyclists to use public roads. The ride is free and open to all ages, maintains a pace of 12 miles per hour or less, and asks participants to wear helmets, obey traffic laws, and remain silent throughout. There is no vendor registration for this event.

Habitat restoration professionals from Tucson Bird Alliance are part of a community stewardship effort caring for the Santa Cruz River in Tubac. Participants will take part in hands-on work to restore habitat along the river. The event takes place at Ron Morriss Park.

Tom Petty Tribute Concert - Quail Creek

Breakdown presents a faithful salute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, capturing the signature sound with lead vocals, layered guitar work, harmonica, harmonies, keys, and all the textures that define the songs. The musicians together bring more than 150 years of experience and have performed professionally since the early 1990s, both as a group and in other tribute projects. The result is a live re-creation that reflects the spirit and sound of the original band.

Star Dazzle

This event takes place at Sahuarita Lake Park and highlights the beauty of the desert night sky with participation from local astronomers and advocates for dark skies. The event is free and welcomes all ages. Vendor registration is not available.

Private Horsemanship Lessons - AZ

At Dancing Spirit Equestrian Ranch, the day is dedicated to individualized horsemanship sessions for horses and their owners. Free Fishing Derby

Take part in a free fishing derby at Sahuarita Lake Park, welcoming participants of all ages. No fishing license is required for this event. Anglers can compete for recognition in four categories: first catch, heaviest fish, longest fish, and smallest fish. Each category will honor one winner from the 15 and under division and one from the 16 and older division. Registration is available through the event organizers.

14th Annual JMRRA Golf Tournament

Please purchase 4 ounces of Merino wool from Viola Jo's before attending. All other materials and tools are provided. Learn techniques that add texture and character to your bowl, including warts, worms, and puckers, so your piece stands out as an art form. Bring one bath towel and two small hand towels, and bring a lunch or snack.

Spain and the American Rev - Looking Back at State Secrets from 250 Years Later

At Tubac Presidio’s Old Schoolhouse, speakers Phil Halpenny and Dan Judkins explore Spain’s role in the American Revolution and the once-secret stories tied to that era. Topics include Juan Bautista de Anza’s donativo campaign across New Mexico in support of the colonists, Benjamin Franklin’s glass armonica and his quiet negotiations with Spain in Paris, shipments of military arms and equipment, and the leadership of Bernardo de Gálvez. A $15 ticket also provides all-day admission to Tubac Presidio State Historic Park and the Griffin Museum.

Life Line Screening will offer preventive health screenings at American Legion Post 66, focusing on stroke, cardiovascular disease risk, and other chronic conditions. Since 1993, Life Line Screening has provided annual assessments designed to help identify health risks early. The package includes five evaluations: a carotid artery ultrasound to look for plaque that can contribute to stroke, an abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound to check for enlargement of the aorta, a heart rhythm screening with a quick six lead EKG to detect an irregular heartbeat such as atrial fibrillation, a peripheral arterial disease screening to assess blood flow in the legs, and a complimentary hypertension screening. A special offer on the screening package is available, emphasizing early detection and peace of mind.

Sahuarita Stars & Stripes at Anamax Park commemorates the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence with live music, vendors, food trucks, and activities for families.
